D'ni Translation Guide

The first step in translating any D'ni text is identifying the letters. This is done litterally, subsituting each character with the exact matching English sound in the Translation Key. Example:

Step One:

Make Rough translation exactly as Translation Key shows, including all superfluous letters.

Step Two:

Make Initial translation, sifting out all superfluous letters and making corrections where necessary.

Next, as you read through your Rough translation, try to pick out letters that aren't really serving a purpose. Most of them will be H's. For instance, all EH's should have their H's taken away. This also goes for KH's. The H is only for pronunciation. This is your Initial translation. Example:

Notice also the AI in "khosaiehn" was changed to AY.

Finally, we make our translation look presentable, touching up with puncuation, capitalization, and other grammar whatnot to complete the transfer from D'ni to English. Example:

Step Three:

Add punctuation, grammar, and capitialization corrections to Initial translation.
